Canadian music stores suffered from the post-Christmas blues after album sales tumbled in the last week of 2004.

According to figures compiled by Nielsen SoundScan, every artist in the top 10 saw their sales decrease significantly, with Shania Twain's latest effort taking the biggest hit on the album charts.

Twain's "Greatest Hits" dropped out of the No. 1 spot after four straight weeks, falling down to the third position, with sales of the album dipping from 66,400 last week to 16,200 this week -- a drop of 75 per cent.

Grabbing the top spot this week was Eminem's "Encore" with 25,700 copies sold, while Green Day's "American Idiot" climbed up from No. 4 to No. 2 with sales of 23,300.

U2's "How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb" fell one spot to No. 4, Usher's "Confessions" climbed from No. 7 to No. 5, and Gwen Stefani's debut solo effort "Love.Angel.Music.Baby" moved up three positions to No. 6.

The seasonal collection "MuchDance 2005" fell two notches to No. 7, and Tupac's latest posthumous release "Loyal To The Game" claimed the No. 8 spot.

Jay-Z and Linkin Park's collaborative effort "Collision Course" entered the top 10 at No. 9 after 5 weeks on the chart, and Simple Plan's "Still Not Getting Any" occupied 10th.

In the U.S., Eminem remained in the No. 1 spot, followed by Green Day in second, Lil' Jon & the East Side Boyz' "Crunk Juice" in third, Jay-Z and Linkin Park in fourth, and Ludacris' "Red Light District" in fifth.
