Slim Shady made a triumphant return to the Canadian album charts this week.
Eminem's first studio album in five years, "Relapse," blasted to the top of the charts, selling 64,000 copies in its debut, according to Nielsen SoundScan data.
The album figures make "Relapse" the second-best debut of 2009, just behind U2's "No Line on the Horizon," which racked up 65,000 copies when it premiered in March.
The rapper's new disc didn't match the numbers of his last studio album, 2004's "Encore," which came in with first-week sales of 74,000.
Eminem also grabbed the No. 1 spot south of the border, selling 608,000 copies of "Relapse" in the U.S., making it the top premiere of the year there.
Back here, Green Day's "21st Century Breakdown" (20,000) in its first full sales week, slipped from No 1. to No. 2., Ginette Reno's "Fais-Moi De La Tendresse" (8,000) moved from No 2 to No. 3, and the "Hannah Montana" soundtrack went down one to No. 4.

Dane Cook's comedy album "ISolated INcident" has the next best first week at No. 5, Kings of Leon's "Only by the Night" remained at No. 6, and Diana Krall's "Quiet Nights" sank three notches to No. 7.
Rounding out the top 10 was Kate Voegele's "Fine Mess" at No. 8, Lady GaGa's "The Fame" at No. 9, and Method Man/Redman's "Blackout 2" at No. 10.
In the U.S., Green Day placed second, followed by Kenny Chesney's "Greatest Hits II" in third, Method Man/Redman in fourth, and Dane Cook in fifth.
