Get up for The Re-Up

"I may be off drugs, but it's made me off track." That's about as personally revealing as Eminem gets on The Re-Up -- unless you count some sleazy claims about his sexual relationship with Mariah Carey, that is.

But if Marshall Mathers' isn't quite as candidly specific as usual about his recent rehab and momentary remarriage, it's with good reason.

The Re-Up isn't an Eminem album: It's a mixtape-style showcase for acts on his label. And in that respect, it tells you everything you need to know.

This 74-minute collection has strong new tracks from assorted members of Slim Shady's D12 posse; a short unreleased cut from slain rapper Proof; plenty of outstanding work from newcomers Bobby Creekwater, Cashis and Stat Quo; a couple of remixes; and even a few cameos from 50 Cent.

Still, the big draw is big dawg Em. And he doesn't disappoint, dishing up eight appearances and his first new tracks in a year -- including the wicked Jimmy Crack Corn, the paranoid Public Enemy #1, and the defiant closer No Apologies.

The man himself may be clean these days, but The Re-Up lets you know he hasn't cleaned up his act.
