Evanescence No. 1 in Canada
By JOHN WILLIAMS

After hovering in the top 10 for over three months, Arkansas rock band Evanescence finally climbed into the No. 1 spot on the Canadian album charts.

Their debut album "Fallen," anchored by the hit song "Bring Me To Life," established the mark on sales of 8,900, and bumped the "Bad Boys II" (7,900) soundtrack down to second after spending three weeks at No. 1 in Canada, according to data compiled by Nielsen Soundscan.

"Fallen" has now sold over 137,500 copies in Canada since its March release.

Evanescence first garnered attention in February after having "Bring Me To Life" and a second track, "My Immortal," included on the soundtrack to the 2003 Ben Affleck action film, "Daredevil."

Meanwhile, positions three through six remained unchanged from last week: Sean Paul's "Dutty Rock" (7,600) held steady in third, followed by Beyonce's "Dangerously In Love" (5,000), Norah Jones's "Come Away With Me" (4,500), and 50 Cent's "Get Rich Or Die Tryin'" (4,400).

Linkin Park's "Meteora" (4,300) continued to inch up the charts, moving from ninth to seventh, Shania Twain's "Up!" (4,090) stayed in eighth, the french compilation "Don Juan" (4,060) claimed the ninth spot, and Metallica's "St. Anger" (4,010) sank from seventh to 10th.

The only debut to crack the top 50 this week was the compilation "Summer Rush 2003" which entered at No. 11.

In the U.S., the "Bad Boys II" soundtrack was No. 1 for a fourth week in a row, followed by the compilation "Now 13," Evanescence, Beyonce, and Chingy's "Jackpot."

Here are the 10 best-selling albums in Canada, according to Nielsen SoundScan:
