54.40 to tour, re-record old material
By JAM! Music
Vancouver-based rockers 54.40 will hit the road this spring in support of a new best-of album, featuring two new songs and re-recorded versions of some earlier hits.

Sony Music Canada said the new disc will feature the new songs "Plenty Emotion" and "Love Rush," as well as earlier singles "Nice To Love You," "She La," "Ocean Pearl," "Since When," and "Casual Viewin'."

The disc will also include re-recorded versions of the tracks "One Day In Your Life," "I Go Blind," "Baby Ran", and "One Gun", all of which they recorded during their earlier tenure with Warner Music Canada.

No precise release date has been announced beyond spring 2002.

The group, which celebrated 20 years together in 2000, will kick off its Canadian tour by helping Toronto's storied Horseshoe Tavern celebrate its 54th anniversary with a four-night stand.

The band will also cross the border for a handful of dates in the U.S., before wrapping up with a March 2 gig in Sarnia, Ont.
