R&B legend Aretha Franklin just wants a little respect.
According to Launch.com, the soul singer is fed up with Detroit prosecutors threatening to slap her with a subpoena to get information about the fire, believed to be a product of arson, that destroyed her home last October.
Officials maintain that Franklin is not a suspect, but say she is not cooperating with them.
Franklin said Monday that she was performing out of town when the investigators were trying to reach her. "Issuing press releases for television shows and daily newspapers to make me look uncooperative is simple not fair, true, or necessary. My attorneys will be in touch with them," she said.
The decision whether or not to issue a subpoena that would "compel" Franklin to testify will be made by prosecutors this week.
