Catch Nelly if you can on Much
By JANE STEVENSON -- Toronto Sun
By JANE STEVENSON

Canadian music's "it girl" Nelly Furtado touches back down in Toronto on April 8 for an Intimate & Interactive session at MuchMusic from 4 to 5 p.m.

The 22-year-old singer-songwriter, who just picked up four Juno awards last month, will chat and perform three hits off her debut album, Whoa, Nelly!

No doubt -- if asked -- she'll also talk about her performance at Elton John's star-studded post-Oscar party last Sunday night and getting shut out of her own label's post-Juno party in Toronto.

Fans can tune into Much on Thursday at 7:30 p.m., or log onto www.muchmusic.com for official details on how to score a wristband to attend this event.

On the concert front, livedaily.com reports the Vans Warped Tour will touch down in Barrie -- presumably at Molson Park -- on Aug. 11. The lineup includes 311, AFI, Alien Ant Farm, the Ataris, Dub Pistols, Fenix TX, H20, Kool Keith, Less Than Jake, the Living End, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, New Found Glory, Pennywise, Rancid, Rollins Band, the Vandals and Weezer.

Meanwhile, Styx, Bad Company and Billy "The Stroke" Squier are hooking up for a summer tour that includes a July 3 date at the Molson Amphitheatre, according to livedaily.com.

A portion of ticket sales from each show will benefit the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland. Joe Stark, a 19-year-old blues singer-guitarist, is also on the bill. Styx's lineup will include Canadian Lawrence Gowan on keyboards-vocals, replacing Styx co-founder Dennis DeYoung.

DeYoung is suing his former bandmates for allegedly misusing the group's name and making band decisions without him.
