Furtado joins Aretha tribute
By JAM! Music

Victoria, B.C.-native Nelly Furtado has been added to the all-star cast saluting Aretha Franklin at next week's VH1 "Divas Live" tribute to the Queen Of Soul, Aretha Franklin.

MTV reports that Furtado, riding high on the success of her debut CD "Whoa, Nelly," and old-school soul singer Jill Scott have been added to the list of more seasoned guests paying tribute to Franklin, including Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, and salsa star Celia Cruz.

"Divas Live 2001 - The One And Only Aretha Franklin" will air on MuchMoreMusic in Canada on April 29th at 9 p.m.

For an added twist to this year's extravaganza, some boys are planning to crash the party, including Marc Anthony, Kid Rock, and Backstreet Boys' A.J. Mclean, Howie Dorough and Kevin Richardson.

Among the presenters participating in the show are Sigourney Weaver, Renee Zellweger, Angie Harmon, Pamela Anderson, Billy Dee Williams, and "Sopranos" stars Edie Falco, Lorraine Bracco, Drea de Matteo and Aida Turturro, MTV said.

The event takes place April 10 at New York City's Radio City Music Hall.
