CALGARY -- The bird's coming back.
In the new year, Canadian singing sensation Nelly Furtado will be winging her way back to Calgary for a show Feb. 2 at the University of Calgary's MacEwan Hall Ballroom.
According to the Ticketmaster Web site, tickets for the show will go on sale Saturday, Nov. 24, for an as-yet undetermined price. An official announcement is expected next week.
On the strength of her debut CD Whoa, Nelly!, and singles like I'm Like A Bird, the B.C.-born Furtado has become one of the world's hottest pop artists.
She took home four Juno awards from this year's ceremony, has performed on Saturday Night Live, and counts Elton John among her fans.
The last time she was in Calgary, in late April, the ballroom show sold out immediately.
Hopefully, by February, the new ballroom -- which has been under construction -- will be open with an increased capacity, thereby sparing any heartache for ticketless fans.
