Furtado lets Loose on future projects
By JANE STEVENSON -- Sun Media
VICTORIA, B.C. -- What's next musically for Nelly Furtado after the staggering success of her third disc, Loose? Well, she's currently in the middle of a Canadian tour, which arrives in Toronto at the Air Canada Centre on Wednesday night, Montreal on Thursday night and Ottawa on Friday night, but is already thinking about her next record. "I get inspired everyday," Furtado told Sun Media. "After this European tour (before she arrived in Canada), I really started thinking about doing a proper unplugged album with xylophones and harps and everything and touring it and doing a DVD, maybe something like that. Or I got really obsessed with doing more like a group project, like a band sort of thing, not a rock band, but an alternative project of some kind that's not a solo project. I'm still writing songs whenever I get a chance." As for whether she'll work with Loose producer Timbaland on her next record, she said with a big laugh: "Tim? Can't live with him, can't live without him, so we will see." Seriously, Furtado described their relationship as "really volatile." "We are (like siblings)," she said. "I know I love him, not in a romantic way, but as a friend, because I put up with all of his antics. He's just one of those superstar producers you're going to hear about in 20, 30, 40, 50 years, and long after he's gone, you'll continue to hear about him. He's just one of those legends..." |
