Matthew Good had a great debut on the Canadian charts, but it was not enough to unseat jazz-pop sensation Norah Jones from the top spot.
Good's first solo album "Avalanche" checked in at No. 2 on the Canadian charts on sales of 16,800, well behind Jones's "Come Away With Me," which held the No. 1 spot for the second week in a row, according to data compiled by Nielsen SoundScan.
Her album, which is still reaping the benefits of her five Grammy wins, sold 29,600, down slightly from the 36,600 in sales last week.
50 Cent's "Get Rich Or Die Tryin'" (16,400) slipped one position to third, Avril Lavigne's "Let Go" (11,400) remained in fourth, and the "Grammy Nominees 2003" (9,700) compilation dropped from third to fifth.
Shania Twain's "Up!" (9,100) was unchanged in sixth and Dixie Chicks' "Home" (9,000) fell two spots to seventh.
Francophone artist Isabelle Boulay debuted in eighth with "Au Moment D'Etre A Vous" (7,700), Coldplay's "A Rush of Blood To The Head" sank from seventh to ninth, and Josh Groban's self-titled debut surged from No. 22 to No. 10.
In other chart debuts, the compilations "Girls Night Out 2" and "YTV Big Fun Party Mix" landed at No. 12 and No. 15 respectively, rapper Fabolous checked in at No. 38, and Lil' Kim's "La Bella Mafia" premiered at No. 47.
In the U.S., 50 Cent was back in the top spot, knocking Norah Jones down to second, Fabolous debuted in third, R. Kelly's "Chocolate Factory" dropped a spot to fourth, and Lil' Kim entered in fifth.
