Matthew Good's music has made its impression, but Good is recognized just as much nowadays for his blog, one of the more proficient around.
Rarely a day goes by where Good isn't commenting on various issues and situations on a national and international level, with plenty of sourcing to boot.
Good says keeping the blog alive on the road is a far more arduous task.
"It totally depends on Internet access," he says. "You're out here, you're tired, and with the limited time that you have, you try to do your best. But it's obviously something I'm committed to."
Good also feels that bands are missing a major opportunity by not utilizing blogs as much as they could.
"It's the best-known marketing platform for music. It just is," he says. "You look at other bands' websites and nothing goes on at a really personal level. Radiohead has kind of learned the lesson. They'll post a couple of lines here and there and a drawing. People like the fact there's an artist they like and they're active on it on a daily basis. All of those things play a quintessential role in me still being around."
