Album Review: Good, Matthew

LOSER ANTHEMS
By DARRYL STERDAN

LOSER ANTHEMS
Matthew Good Band
(Universal)

We've never really thought of alt-rocker Matthew Good as the kind of artist whose brilliance makes fans seek out his every recorded moment, but hey, seems we were wrong. And for those uber-fans, here's Loser Anthems, an EP of Good oddities and leftovers from the past couple of years. There are a few of his big-riff, post-grunge numbers that could be outtakes from his last CD Beautiful Midnight, a couple of studio snippets and orchestral manoeuvres, a couple of moody, broody acoustic cuts and one essential cut -- the epic, haunting space odyssey Flight Recorder From Viking 7. But if you wanna hear it, act fast -- quantities are limited. Wait too long, and you'll deserve your own loser anthem.

Track Listing 1. Flashdance II
2. My Life As A Circus Clown
3. Flight Recorder From Viking 7
4. The Fine Art Of Falling Apart
5. The Man From Harold Wood
6. Intermezzo: M. Good v M. Trolley
7. Life Beyond The Minimum Safe Distance
