In their heyday, The Gruesomes acted more like Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee and Marky rather than Weirdly, Creepella, Gobby and Schneider the Spider.
While their style bore the image of The Ramones, their brand of garage punk derived from those creepy Flintstones neighbours after whom the band are named.
