Tim McGraw & Faith Hill Q & A
By DAVID SCHMEICHEL -- Sun Media

Aww, how cute -- they even finish each other's sentences.

Husband-and-wife country music sensations Tim McGraw and Faith Hill -- married for more than a decade -- still appear to be in the honeymoon phase.

And by all accounts, the couple has every reason to be happy -- they've got three lovely children, their careers are red-hot, and their 2007 Soul2Soul tour has sold out shows across the continent.

Of course, that leaves them with little reason to waste time promoting the things, which means they've declined to do many advance interviews.

They did provide us with a transcript of a recent sit-down chat, however, and while it's not especially revelatory, it does offer some insight into what life must be like at the Hill/McGraw household.

Some highlights:

There are rumours this might be the last tour for the two of you.

Faith Hill: Probably the last for a really, really long time.

Tim McGraw: Yeah, yeah.

Hill: I mean, I think it's dangerous to say never.

McGraw: Right. And we don't want to not do it ever again. But, for a long time.

How do the kids handle life on the road?

Hill: Well, it's all they've ever known. They have a normal life in terms of going to school and playing sports during the school year ... The only thing is that, right now, their summers are a little bit different.

McGraw: They do get to do cool stuff and travel a lot, which I think is great. I think it's kind of an education in itself.

How do you make the switch from being Mom and Dad to big-time singing stars?

Hill: Getting dressed for the show, and putting on the outfit and the wardrobe. And then hearing the audience. I mean, that's just it.

McGraw: Hearing the audience -- and it's just that low vibration. Even when they're yelling, it's just that energy.

How do you plan to top the 2006 tour, which was the best-selling country music tour of all time?

Hill: I don't think you can. We just want to do a better show than we did last year ... We top it in terms of creativity.

This obviously doesn't happen much, but how do you deal with a bad night?

Hill: I have had the occasional bad experience, where you're performing and singing your heart out, and you look out into the audience, and there's just one person sitting there.

McGraw: Or asleep.

Hill: But it makes you work. It makes me work harder. I'm like, "I'm gonna get that dude off his butt before this night is over."

McGraw: You end up going and playing right to that person.

What's the strangest thing that's happened to you onstage?

Hill: We had a video that started the show, our opening night last summer ... We had spent so much time approving everything that was to be seen during that show, but (the video) was not finished until the day of the show ... And they kept coming to our dressing room to (ask us to) see the video before the show starts. (We said) 'Oh, we're fine, we trust you.' And we get onstage ...

McGraw: Bad move.

Hill: It was kind of National Geographic triple-X ...

McGraw: There were little sperms swimming on the floor ...

Hill: It's hilarious now.

McGraw: And giraffes and zebras and rhinos ...

Hill: I thought, 'Surely he went and looked at it,' but ...

McGraw: I didn't.

Hill: Needless to say, night No. 2 in Columbus, the video was not there.
