EARTH, SKY AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN
I Mother Earth
(EMI)
If your mate falls for somebody else, dumps you, moves out and leaves cool stuff behind, what are you gonna do? Give it back? Hell, no. You're gonna toss it -- or if it's really cool, sell it and pocket the cash. Oh, don't act so shocked -- we've all done something like it.
Hell, that's what EMI is doing right now with a dozen tunes I Mother Earth left behind when they moved to Universal.
Earth, Sky ... collects acoustic cuts (Levitate, So Gently We Go), a pair of U.K.-only B-sides and tracks from a live-in-the-studio session in '97, all featuring the original lineup with vocalist Edwin.
But frankly, aside from the snarling swirl of Subterranean Wonderland, this is a pretty standard set of the band's snappy modern-rock that would only appeal to diehards.
No wonder they left it behind. (I Mother Earth)
