With their explosive delivery, off-the-cuff pseudo political manifestos and snotty attitude, Ikara Colt stand proudly in the tradition of young and angry art-school punks. They're a little like Sonic Youth without the feedback, or Joy Division after a few cans of Jolt cola.
And yet the songs on the London band's debut full-length album, Chat And Business, push them beyond mere imitator status. They're fast, furious and hellishly catchy, propelled along by Dominic Young's drumming, Claire Ingram's sharp guitar riffs and Paul Resende's urgent vocals.
