Jagger, Clapton join McCartney benefit

In what is shaping up to be a specatcular gathering of veteran British rockers, Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton have joined the star-studded bill being assembled by Paul McCartney to benefit the families of workers lost in the World Trade Center tragedy, Billboard.com reports.

The latest additions will join The Who and, possibly, David Bowie and the surviving members of Led Zeppelin, though the latter two acts have not confirmed their participation. Bruce Springsteen is also rumoured to be participating, according to Billboard.com.

Also joining the bill at the Oct. 20 concert at New York's Madison Square Garden are Billy Joel, Marc Anthony, India.Arie, and Five For Fighting.

Previously announced acts include John Mellencamp, Bon Jovi, James Taylor, Macy Gray, and comics Jerry Seinfeld and Jim Carrey.

Tickets for the show go on sale Monday. The concert will be broadcast in the U.S. on MTV and VH1. It will also be available on radio stations around the world.
