Canada's premier preternaturally horny power trio return with another album chock-a-block with big chunky riffs and Danko Jones' raspy voice.

Despite Jones' pose as a none-too-bright, sex-obsessed strutting rocker, anyone who's seen him live or listened closely knows that a satirical intelligence lurks just below the surface -- you don't hear too many hard rockers referencing indie darlings Superchunk. And Jones is smart enough to rock with a wink, as with the ridiculously masochistic protagonist of Invisible, who makes an amusing parody of too-sensitive balladeers (it also benefits from a guest appearance from Kyuss/Hermano howler John Garcia).

DJ's back-to-basics riff rock works best when there's a little something extra, like the handclaps and falsetto singing which grace Everybody Wants To Fall in Love, or the rapid-fire bounce that propels She's Drugs.

Sometimes, Jones' wit takes a powder as on the just plain dumb The Finger and the overwrought closer Time Heals Nothing, but for the most part Jones and Co. remember to keep their tongues at least partly in cheek, with entertaining consequences.
