's Rats and into the light for her forthcoming album, Present."Rats was more of a hard rock, kind of a dark record," says Rene LeBlanc, A&R at Aquarius Records, of the album the singer had originally wanted to call Ratsass. "What's happened since is she's in amazing spirits and it shows in what she's writing and how she's performed the songs."

The album, Jordan's fourth, is tentatively scheduled for release at the end of Sept., preceded by the first single "Do What I Can". A video will be most likely be shot in August.

"With titles like `Everything's Better', `More To Life', `I Do', the songs are very very positive and they're quite radio friendly," says LeBlanc. "She still keeps her identity through them, but there are a few songs like `Everything's Better' and `I Do' that really have a flavour of the month to them."

The outgoing Montreal native lives northwest of Toronto now, after residing in the U.S. for years. She recorded Present in Toronto over the spring, at Phase One and Metalworks studios. It was producer by Rick Neigher.

"He's worked with Sass a lot," says LeBlanc. "Sass likes to work with him because he's also a writer and an arranger, so she's real comfortable with him. She always writes her own lyrics and she always has the melody in her head, so she needs to work with somebody who can actually lay down the guitar and Rick is perfect for her for that."

The first single , "Do What I Can", is described as a mid-tempo rock song -- "it's not hard rock," says LeBlanc -- with the potential to cross over to contemporary hit radio.

The album also includes a cover of Michel Pagliaro's "Rain Showers".
