Grammy-award winning singer Alicia Keys has signed on to star in "The Nanny Diaries," Variety reports.
Based on the 2002 best-selling novel by Nicola Kraus, the picture centers on a working-class woman from New Jersey played by Scarlett Johansson, who becomes a nanny to a wealthy Manhattan family.
The cast also includes Chris Evans, Laura Linney, Paul Giamatti and Donna Murphy.
Directing duo Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini ("American Splendor") will helm the film with shooting to begin this month in New York City.
Keys will also appear in the action comedy "Smokin' Aces," starring Ben Affleck and Don Cheadle.
