There are things nobody in this world needs. And a Kid Rock live album would seem to be one of them. But we gotta admit, 'Live' Trucker is more fun than you'd expect this greasy little punk to deliver.

This 70-minute set -- the bulk of which was recorded in his Detroit hometown back in 2004 -- does a decent job of representing and integrating both sides of the Kid's personality.

Which is to say: You get Detroit rap-metal firecrackers like Bawitdaba, American Bad Ass and Devil Without a Cause, along with southern-fried rock and hick-hop like Cowboy, Picture (with Gretchen Wilson filling the revolving-door duet spot previously occupied by Sheryl Crow and Allison Moorer), and the David Allen Coe-inspired Son of Detroit, all cranked out with mucho macho bluster from Kid's ragtag Twisted Brown Trucker Band.

Hell, you even get a cover-art homage to Bob Seger, a playful reworking of The Gap Band's Outstanding, a little Freebird and a couple of older cuts featuring his late sidekick Joe C. Yep, all the hits and a rapping munchkin too.

We may not need any of that, but we want it anyway.
