Although much has been said, written, compiled and reissued in the 30 years since Jimi Hendrix shuffled off this mortal coil, the full dimension of what Hendrix achieved in the final four years of his life may only now be coming into focus.
Despite the haphazard compilations and shabby reissues that have seen release in the intervening years, Hendrix's producer/engineer Eddie Kramer -- who now oversees the Hendrix archive -- says the singer-guitarist committed enough important music to tape to warrant a long series of new Hendrix albums.
