Lenny Kravitz is making his first foray into film with the drama "Iced," Production Weekly reports.

The story centres on a musician (Kravitz) who has a successful start to his career, but it all falls apart when he becomes addicted to crack cocaine.

The film, which is in pre-production, is based on the book of the same name by Ray Shell.

"Iced" is being directed by "Shadowboxer" helmer Lee Daniels.
