Hot country act Lady Antebellum had the right antidote to knock Sade out of the No. 1 spot on the Canadian album charts this week.
The band's new effort, "Need You Now," made the jump to No. 1 with 7,000 in sales, switching positions with Sade's "Soldier of Love" (5,000) at No. 2, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Lady Antebellum has now sold over 47,000 copies since the album, the band’s second, was released six weeks ago.
The group also hit No. 1 stateside, selling 126,000 copies of "Need You Now" in the U.S., according to Billboard.com.
In Canada, the "NOW 15!" compilation remained at No. 3, k.d. lang's "Recollection" rebounded one notch to No. 4, and "Almost Alice," the soundtrack to Tim Burton's re-imagining of "Alice in Wonderland," debuted at No. 5.
Lady Gaga's "The Fame" moved up one notch to No. 6, the Black Eyed Peas' "E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies)" jumped from No. 10 to No. 7, and Ke$ha's "Animal" kept a hold on the No. 8 slot.
Rounding out the top 10 was the premiere of Jason Derulo's self-titled album at No. 9, and Adam Lambert's "For Your Entertainment" at No. 10.
In the U.S., Lady Antebellum topped the chart, followed by Sade in second, Blake Shelton's "Hillbilly Bone" in third, Danny Gokey's "My Best Days" in fourth, and "Almost Alice" in fifth.
