Avril's 'Sk8er Boi' now a film
By JAM! Music

Avril Lavigne's hit song "Sk8er Boi" is being turned into a movie, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Paramount Pictures has optioned the song, and "ER" writer David Zabel will be turning the lyrics into a feature-length story about two teens from different backgrounds.

The film, although not a musical, is expected to be similar in style to the '80s films "Flashdance" and "Footloose".

Lavigne's songwriting team The Matrix will act as consultants on the screenplay, and will also be overseeing the soundtrack to the film.
