Avril's goth ideas
Pop star may take a page from Marilyn Manson's stage production
By JANE STEVENSON

Canuck teenager Avril Lavigne says her coming fall tour of arenas could get inspiration from a mighty strange place -- shock-rocker Marilyn Manson.

"I went to Marilyn Manson's concert and I just thought it was so great, because it was just so different," the 19-year-old native of Napanee told the Sun last week when she was in town to promote her new disc, Under My Skin.

"And he just did so much and added in so much to his show. I mean, it was inspiring. I'm not going to try to go out and have a show like Marilyn Manson. But seeing what he did with lighting and props really inspired me and made me think, 'Wow, you know what? I can do that too. I can do different things with light. I can add a couple of different props and just have a little more fun and just be more creative.' "

Just so you don't get the wrong idea, Lavigne added: "I'm not going to come flying in on a rope, although that would be really fun. But I think I might add a few just different things."
