The Tragically Hip's reign atop the Canadian album charts was a short one.
The Kingston, Ont. band's latest disc "In Between Evolution" was knocked out of No. 1 spot this week by Avril Lavigne's "Under My Skin," which climbed up from No. 3 with sales of 15,800, according to data compiled by Nielsen SoundScan Canada.
The Hip's "Evolution" dropped out of the top position after one week, falling down to the second slot, with sales of the album dipping from 22,500 last week to 11,200 this week -- a drop of 50 per cent.
G-Unit rapper Lloyd Banks' first album "The Hunger For More" claimed third after debuting at No. 2 last week, Usher's "Confessions" remained at No. 4, and the Black Eyed Peas' "Elephunk" moved up one notch to No. 5.
Evanescence's "Fallen" rose up from No. 10 to No. 6, while the Beasties Boys' "To The Five Boroughs" and Diana Krall's "The Girl in the Other Room" both held steady at No. 7 and No. 8, respectively.
D-12 re-entered the top 10 at No.9, and Velvet Revolver's "Contraband" slipped one to tenth.
