Avril sets 'Dome date
By -- Calgary Sun

Under your skin and in your city.

Canadian pop music diva Avril Lavigne has finally set a Calgary date as part of the tour to support her sophomore record Under My Skin, which was released last year.

The vocalist has just announced a July 30 Saddledome show, which is part of a 15-city cross-country jaunt.

Tickets for the concert are $48.75 (plus service charges) and go on sale this Saturday at all Ticketmaster locations.

Lavigne, who hails from the small town of Napanee, Ont., shot to stardom three years ago when she released her massive debut, Let Go, which, thanks to singles such as Sk8er Boi and Complicated, sold more than 20 million copies worldwide and earned her eight Grammy nominations.

Last year, the 20-year-old delivered Under My Skin, an album she co-wrote with a number of songwriters including Canadian veteran Chantal Kreviazuk and her husband Raine Maida.

While it failed to earn her any Grammy nominations, she leads the way with five 2005 Juno nominations -- including for album of the year and artist of the year -- which will be presented this weekend in Winnipeg.
