Amid the ongoing speculation about who may be the new lead singer, the manager for guitarist Jimmy Page says the band featuring Page, bassist John Paul Jones and drummer Jason Bonham is planning to tour and record a new album with a new singer.
Peter Mensch told media outlet BBC Radio 6 Music that the band would continue providing it finds the right singer to replace Robert Plant.
"Jimmy Page has been playing guitar professionally since he was 16 years old," Mensch said in the interview. "Jimmy Page likes being a musician. That's what he does. He doesn't want to be a race car driver or a solicitor.
"So they (Page, Jones, Bonham) did the (Led Zeppelin) show (at London's O2 arena in December 2007) with Robert Plant, they had a really good time rehearsing, the three of them, before Robert showed up.
"And they decided that if they could find a singer that they thought would fit their bill -- whatever their bill was at this stage in their career --that they'd make a record and go on tour."
However, Mensch said it would be a "long and difficult process" determining who would be the new lead singer. "And we're not soliciting people! So don't call me about it!"
