GET LUCKY
Legacy digs into botton of barrelBy ALLAN WIGNEY -- Ottawa Sun
Loverboy Get Lucky (Legacy) Let us reflect upon what a paradise our world was just 26 years ago: No 9/11; no West Nile virus; no Avian flu. And still safely a year away from the release of Loverboy's Get Lucky, an album arguably responsible for more suffering than at least that West Nile virus. Loverboy's debut release spawned hit after hit after hit (as in three hits in total) and sparked a headband craze from which our society is only now recovering. Well, it seems Columbia's Legacy imprint, which to date has been responsible for reissuing long-lost material by the likes of The Carter Family and Miles Davis, has reached the bottom of its archival barrel, as the proud label has resurrected Get Lucky, complete with four "bonus" demos. And as we gingerly revisit the album we find that, frankly, Working for the Weekend still kicks ass! And that, uh, Gangs in the Street is kinda entertaining. And ... and ... there's an extra version of Working for the Weekend thrown in at the end; so, if you put the CD on repeat, you can hear the two renditions back to back. Freakin' sweet! Okay, so maybe life is better now after all. Track Listing:
1. Working for the Weekend
