I don't get it, either. This has everything wrong with it, according to my cruel standards, and yet ... it's just such a nice album.

 And it's not just because I'm insanely attracted to Reba, either. Reba's just got an old-time country voice which somehow fits this all better than the new, breathy rock-and-roll approach.

 This Is My Prayer for You, the first track, is really, really tight, and the hot country Up on the Housetop seems so natural, the way Alan Jackson manages to croon. The Angels Sang is another good one.

 It's no secret Reba loves Christmas. She spent dozens of paragraphs on it in her book. So maybe she isn't just trying to cash in here.

 Whatever the case, this is the best hot country Christmas album of the year.
