Kurt Cobain used to say how much of an influence the Melvins were on Nirvana. Nirvana, of course, sold millions of albums, became rock stars and then Kurt blew his brains out - so look where that got him.
The Melvins, meanwhile, failed to sell millions of albums, did not become rock stars and are still very much alive. How ironic! Now the Melvins have committed an act of musical mischief by recording a version of Smells Like Teen Spirit featuring former teen idol Leif Garrett. More irony!
