From Arcade Fire and Wolf Parade to The Stills and Dears, Montreal's underground scene has given the world much to love. But the city's newest It Band is after something a bit more widespread: Global domination. And we wouldn't be surprised if they get it.

Meet Mobile, the group that proves Canada can hold its own in the dance-rock market. That proof is in the tasty pudding of their debut disc Tomorrow Starts Today, a set of 12 hooky hits in search of a chart to top.

Between all the spiky guitars and disco-rock grooves, the throbbing new wave synths and pop melodies, the moody vocals and giant choruses, tracks like Hands Tied, Out of My Head and Montreal Calling will sound great shuffling in your iPod next to The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, Hot Hot Heat and the like.

Expect to see stories headlined Upwardly Mobile any minute now. You can catch the band in action Thursday at the Pyramid.

But don't be surprised if you don't see them around these parts much after that.
