SCTV alumnus Rick Moranis' album, The Agoraphobic Cowboy, will be released by Warner Music Canada on Feb. 7.
Previously only available via his website, the disc was recently nominated for a best comedy album Grammy.
The inspiration for the record apparently came from Moranis' kids, who had been listening to such alt-country-bluegrass as Widespread Panic, Stringcheese Incident and Yonder Mountain Stringband.
"These reminded me of the country cross-over hits from the '60s that I'd listened to growing up: The Statler Brothers, Roger Miller, Johnny Cash and especially Ray Stevens," the
Toronto-born Moranis said in a statement.
"I started writing some songs and singing them to friends over the phone."

Musician and producer Tony Sherr heard the songs and invited Moranis over to his home studio in Brooklyn where they recorded the album's 13 tracks.
Twelve of the songs are original compositions; the song I Ain't Goin' Nowhere is a parody of the Hank Snow classic I've Been Everywhere.
Rick Moranis's beloved SCTV characters included Bob McKenzie and Gerry Todd.
