Morrissey is working on his first new album in six years, Undercover reports.

The ex-Smiths frontman returned to the studio earlier this year, but producer Jerry Finn says the follow-up to 1997's "Maladjusted" isn't expected until next May, at the earliest.

According to Finn, the album will be released on Sanctuary Records.
