The Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame is making room for two new inductees -- Anne Murray and Art Snider.
Murray and the late Snider, who died in 1987, will officially be named members to the prestigious hall at the Canadian Country Music Awards on Sept. 9 at the Saddledome.
Murray's musical career has now spanned 35 years.
After giving up teaching she joined CBC's Singalong Jubilee. Murray recorded her first album, What About Me, in 1968. She went on to record many more and her best known hits include: Snowbird, Danny's Song, You Needed Me, Could I Have This Dance and Love Song.
Murray is a Companion of the Order of Canada and has 31 Junos and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Nashville's Walkway of Stars and Canada's Walk of Fame.
Snider was a beloved producer and had his own label, Chateau/Canatal, as well as recording studios.
He was also the music conductor for CBC TV's Country Hoedown series and later The Tommy Hunter Show.
