Jersey emo punk rockers My Chemical Romance made a noisy debut on the Canadian album charts this week.
The band's third disc, "The Black Parade," debuted at No. 2 with sales of over 21,000 copies, according to figures compiled by Nielsen SoundScan.
It's their first new material since 2003's "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge," and best chart showing here since the live effort "Life on the Murder Scene," which entered at No. 15 earlier this year.
However, they couldn't topple Quebec-based crooner Gregory Charles' "I Think of You" (44,000), which continued to be the top disc in the land.
In its second week of release, The Tragically Hip's "World Container" (11,000) slipped one spot to No. 3, and Rod Stewart's "Still the Same... Great Rock Classics of Our Time" and the Killers' "Sam's Town" both held firm at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.
Sarah McLachlan's Christmas album "Wintersong" sank three positions to No. 6, and Justin Timberlake's "FutureSex/LoveSounds" remained at No. 7 after seven weeks.
Rounding out the Top 10 was Evanescence's "The Open Door" at No. 8, Tony Bennett's "Duets: An American Classic" at No. 9, and Diana Krall's "From This Moment On" at No. 10.
Other notable debuts included John Legend's "Once Again" at No. 11, Johnny Cash's "Forever" at No. 18, and Robbie Williams' "Rudebox" at No. 36.
