The Seattle-based label that was at the centre of the early-'90s g-word explosion still carries with it a certain aura of hipness and cool thanks to new bands such as Hot Hot Heat and The Thermals, joining the names of the old guard: Nirvana, Mudhoney, Soundgarden, etc.
