No Doubt's Gwen Stefani has completed five tracks for her solo debut and hopes to have the first single out this summer, Rolling Stone says.
Stefani has 16 songs written for the album and told the magazine she plans on "writing as many as it takes to make it great."
The singer recorded three songs with producer Dallas Austin (Madonna, Pink, TLC) in Atlanta last month.
"It's starting to feel like a record," she told Rolling Stone. "I have loads of ideas and tricks up my sleeve, so watch out."
Since completing work on her first feature film -- "The Aviator" opposite Leonardo DiCaprio -- Stefani will have most of the spring to finish her solo set before hitting the road with No Doubt and Blink 182 in early June.
