Questioning the morality or motives behind Duets: The Final Chapter, the latest in the long line of rap resuscitations, is irrelevant.

True, Biggie protege Diddy stands to add a few more Benjamins to his considerable bank account with the disc which pairs the R.I.P. B.I.G with some of today's hottest hip hop stars -- as well as, tripling your necrophilic fun, the late 2Pac and Bob Marley.

But, just as obviously, there is an element of tribute to the disc, for Diddy and those Notorious influenced, such as Eminem, Obie Trice, The Game and The Clipse.

So let's just call it a wash, and take it as it comes -- as a steady stream of solid club hits and throwaway hip hop filler.

From the beefy Whatchu Want, with Jay-Z, and the funky Missy Elliott teaming on Ultimate Rush to the quite-nice Living In Pain and the sexy, sleazy R. Kelly collabo Mi Casa, the aforementioned 2Pac track, which also features Mary J. Blige and Nas, Diddy has done a fine job making sure the old makes something new.

Mind you, there's nothing you could consider a classic here, or anything seminal Biggie, but neither is there anything that could truly be considered an embarrassment (although, the Korn contribution Wake Up comes close).

So, again, let's call it a wash.
