The Offspring have decided to change the title of their new album, and Guns 'N Roses frontman Axl Rose will be very pleased with it.
Back in March, the punk band announced that they were naming their new album "Chinese Democracy," which is the same title Guns 'N Roses had been thinking of for their long-delayed upcoming album.
The Offspring have relented, and have chosen to go with "Splinter" as the title. According to their official website, the band acknowledged that the original name had brought "production to a halt."
"Splinter," produced by Brendan O'Brien (Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen), is set for release on December 2.
The Offspring earlier explained the reason behind choosing to use "Chinese Democracy."
"You snooze, you lose," Offspring singer Dexter Holland said in March. "Axl ripped off my braids, so I ripped off his album title."
