Summersault tour kicks off Aug. 11
By JANE STEVENSON

Toronto band Our Lady Peace's Summersault tour gets under way Aug. 11 at Barrie's Molson Park with previously confirmed headliners Smashing Pumpkins and Foo Fighters. Also on the bill are A Perfect Circle, The Catherine Wheel, Treble Charger and Eve 6. Tix, $39.50, are on sale Saturday at TicketMaster or can be charged by calling 870-8000. The advance random wristband policy is in effect.

The "Up In Smoke Tour" featuring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube and Eminen visits the Molson Amphitheatre on July 4. Tix, $65, $49.50, $39.50 and $29.50, are on sale Friday at TicketMaster, the amphitheatre box office, or can be charged by phone by calling 870-8000. The advance random wristband policy is in effect.

The "Maximum Rock Tour" with Motley Crue, Megadeth, and Anthrax, plays the Molson Amphitheatre on Aug. 15. Tix, $49.50, $39.50 and $29.50, are on sale Friday at TicketMaster, the amphitheatre box office (no first day sales) or can be charged.

The Stone Temple Pilots, who play the Molson Amphitheatre with the Red Hot Chili Peppers on Aug. 16, visit The Warehouse on July 1 as part of the Molson Canadian Rocks "simulbash."

The event will see five bands play in small clubs in five Canadian cities on Canada Day -- Goo Goo Dolls in Vancouver, No Doubt in Edmonton, Our Lady Peace in Ottawa and Third Eye Blind in St. John's -- with the clubs' shows connected to each other via a satellite feed.

Closed-circuit TV delivers the shows to 85 other clubs across Canada and they will also be webcast on iam.ca.

In Ontario, people can try to get tickets to see the event by finding a black bottle in specially marked cases of Molson Canadian until June 21. There are also bar, radio and MuchMusic contests.

Wide Mouth Mason is confirmed as the opening act for The Guess Who, whose Running Back Thru Canada Tour officially kicks off in St. John's, Nfld., May 31, and brings them to the Molson Amphitheatre on June 15.
