New CD for OLP?
By IAN NATHANSON
With their Summersault 2000 festival now complete, Our Lady Peace now turn their attention to completing a new album.

Lead singer Raine Maida and guitarist Mike Turner told The Bear's Kath Thompson the Canuck alt-rock quartet will have a follow-up to 1999's Happiness ... Is Not A Fish You Can Catch to be released by year's end.

"It'll be a lot more live in feel, harder-edged, closer to Naveed," Maida said during The Bear's live-to-air report from the Rideau Carleton Raceway edition of Summersault.

On top of eight songs they have in the can, Maida added "we've recorded four songs in the past five weeks and we're heading to New York soon to record some more."

Both Maida and Turner said the as-yet-untitled album is expected to be released in December, with a new single due out in October.

"We've got so much music, we could even put another (album) out," Turner said.

OLP have been previewing a couple of new songs to the Summersault crowds across the country, one of them a tune called Life.
