Pet Shop Boys back in fall?
By JANE STEVENSON

Pet Shop Boys fans who didn't get tickets to the veteran British dance act's concert at Massey Hall last Sunday night should know the still popular duo might return in the fall.

And they'd arrive on a slightly altered version of their gay-themed Wotapalava Tour, which was announced last summer only to be cancelled shortly afterward when headliner Sinead O' Connor pulled out.

"We want it to happen," PSB frontman Neil Tennant told The Toronto Sun. "Make it more like a club environment in an arena. It's been suggested to us that a better idea would be to do it as an indoor event 'cause we may be coming back to North America in the autumn, and maybe do some Wotapalava dates within that in the bigger cities."

Tennant says a date in either Toronto or Montreal -- or both -- is a definite possibility.

"What I liked about the Wotapalava bill as it stood was that when you got all these gay performers, they had nothing in common really apart from the fact that they had a kind of willfulness about them, and a huge integrity and personality about them," Tennant said. "And I suddenly began to think that that was really much more interesting than the gay thing in a way."
