Police not the only band reuniting
By -- Sun Media

Fans talks about the big show

Just call 2007 the Year of the Reunion Tour.

In addition to The Police's 30th Anniversary Reunion tour, which kicks off tomorrow night in Vancouver, there's a bevy of other high-profile reunions this summer, the failed Van Halen regrouping with David Lee Roth notwithstanding.

Heaven and Hell (the Ronnie James Dio-led incarnation of Black Sabbath) already blew through Canada in the spring, while the recently reunited Rage Against The Machine and The Stooges don't currenting have any Canadian dates.

Here's a list of the remaining bands getting back together and their Canadian dates thus far:

Crowded House: After disbanding in 1996, the beloved Australian melodic pop outfit is back without drummer Paul Hester, who killed himself in 2005. The new lineup features foudning frontman Neil Finn, and bassist Nick Seymour.

Montreal (Aug. 11), Toronto, (Aug. 13), Vancouver (Sept. 3), Calgary (Sept. 5), Edmonton (Sept. 6)

Genesis: The Turn It On Again tour features Tony Banks, Phil Collins, and Mike Rutherford touring together for the first time in 15 years.

Toronto (Sept. 7), Montreal (Sept. 14), and Ottawa (Sept. 15)

Smashing Pumpkins: The Chicago angst-ridden alt-rockers disbanded in 2000 and their regrouping features only frontman Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin without bassist D'Arcy Wretzky and guitarist James Iha, so just how much of a reunion this is, is debatable.

Montreal (Sept. 8), Toronto (Sept. 9)
