MONTREAL (CP) -- Prince, Wynton Marsalis and George Thorogood and the Destroyers will be among those wowing fans at this year's Montreal International Jazz Festival.

The June 28-July 7 festival will also feature Canadian pianist-vocalist Diana Krall, whose two shows to kick off the 10 days are already sold out, organizers said Tuesday as they released the lineup.

The native of Nanaimo, B.C., has won a Grammy Award for best jazz vocal performance and has emerged as one of the top jazz musicians in the world.

Prince, who is using his original stage name again after having dropped "the symbol" and "the artist" from his title, is touring with The New Power Generation to promote their upcoming album, The Rainbow Children.

Ibrahim Ferrer, from the famed Buena Vista Social Club, will play with his orchestra on July 2. That show is also sold out.

Other notables who will be in town include bossa nova master Joao Gilberto, Thorogood and Marsalis, who will be with the Lincoln Centre Jazz Orchestra.

"Nice lineup, isn't it?" festival organizer Alain Simard said.

"The festival has attained a good reputation internationally over the last 22 years, and it is well respected by musicians."

While tickets for the major acts went on sale in February, all tickets for the indoor shows go on sale this Saturday. The lineup of the 500 free outdoor shows will be released June 14. (More on Prince and Diana Krall)
