GUILTY PLEASURES
Quiet Riot
(Bodyguard/EMI)
'Come on, hear the groans / The creaks and the moans / As these old, old coots reform / Oh no ... '
If Quiet Riot had enough of a sense of humour to revamp their old cover of Slade's Cum on Feel the Noize with lyrics like that, we might give 'em a thumbs-up. But no.
Instead, Guilty Pleasures -- the second reunion effort from the '80s metalheads -- is just another lousy album from another bunch of guys who don't know when to quit.
They're still singing about rock 'n' rollin' all night and partying every day, still ripping off Slade and still sounding like a poor man's Motley Crue.
Bang your heads if you must, boys -- but remember to hold on to your hairpieces.
