Lou Reed books Canadian show

New York rock poet Lou Reed has unveiled plans for a North American tour, and it includes one stop in Canada.

Rolling Stone reports the 17-date trek, which kicks off in New York on April 21, will wind it's way to Toronto's Massey Hall on June 13. Ticket details for the Toronto show have not been announced.

The tour is in support of his latest album "The Raven," and his upcoming hits compilation "NYC Man: The Ultimate Lou Reed Collection," due in June.

On the tour, Reed will be backed by longtime bassist Fernando Saunders, cellist Jane Scarpantoni and singer Antony. Performances will include songs from Reed's entire career to promote both albums, including new solo material and classic Velvet Underground tracks.
