Singer-songwriter Johnny Reid returned to the top spot on the Canadian album charts this week.

His effort, "A Place Called Love," jumped up three positions No. 1 this week, selling 8,000 copies, according data compiled by Nielsen SoundScan.

It has now sold close to 90,000 since its release six weeks ago.

Rich Voisine's "Americana" (7,200) the top dog last week, was forced down to No. 2, Phil Collins' "Going Back" (7,100) went forward two levels to No. 3, and Eminem's "Recovery" remained at No. 4.

Neil Young's latest "Le Noise" failed to make a racket on the charts, slipping three spots to No. 5. Bruno Mars' "Doo-Wops & Hooligans" had the top debut at No. 6 and John Lennon's "Power to the People" got a 70th birthday boost, landing at No. 7.

Rounding out the top 10 was Linkin Park's "Thousands Suns" at No. 8, "NOW 16" at No. 9, and Santana's "Guitar Heaven: The Greatest Guitar Classics of All Time" at No. 10.

In the U.S., Toby Keith's "Bullets in the Gun landed in first (71,000), followed by Kenny Chesney's "Hemingway's Whiskey" in second, Bruno Mars in third, Eminem in fourth, and Zac Brown Band's "You Get What You Give" in fifth.
